Guided tours on the History of Europe
In distinction from guided tours with focus on the local or national history that are a part of the sum "European history", this projects aims at developing guided tours on the "history of Europe" in the sense of "Europeanness" of cities. Participants: Professional Guides with background in historical studies, history teachers with the aim of developing tours with students, history students at universities. In a three days-workshop participants learn to create a tour with a focus on 1) European iconography (examples of the female figure Europe), 2) European meetings (synods, congresses, gatherings), 3) European cultural transfer (artistic styles, culture, language through migration and exchange) 4) European destinies (places or memorials for personalities that had an impact on the development of European Identity). With the emphasis on 1918, we tell stories, show places, photographies of europeanness in the interwar period (paneuropan, socialist but also fascist "Europeanness").
