Danube from springs to flowing into the sea – The arts` ambassador from the heart to the border of Europe
Aim of the project: The affirmation of new European symbols in the European Year of Cultural Heritage - the Danube River - its promotion through dedicated plastic and photographic arts, accessible to European citizens. Objectives: - Creating a network of Danube river towns with river ports to raise awareness of their common values and affirmation of European affiliation. - Identify new opportunities for future collaboration between the network cities created by the project. - Promoting volunteering. Main activities: 1. Organization of cruises (the January, February of 2019) 2. Selection of artists (March of 2019) 3. Creation Cruise - attracting plastic artists and photographers from Europe and beyond, on a cruise ship that will cross the Danube from springs to spills, this being the period devoted to performing future exhibits. (2 weeks in March - April of 2019) 4. Arranging the exhibition on the cruise ship. (2 weeks in April – May of 2019) 5. Art Danube cruise with stop at all ports on the route upstream. In each harbor one day will be held for the general public and one gala evening for local authorities and the media to signing a collaboration agreement between cities in the network. (one month in May – June of 2019). 6. Promotion of the European symbols in the context of the exhibition dedicated to the fine and photographic arts, “Danube from springs to flowing into the sea – The arts` ambassador from the heart to the border of Europe”, made with the works of the artists who were in the Creation Cruise through the exhibition held at the Institutions of European Union in Brussels. (the June of 2019) 7. Gala of the Danube with awarding the works according to the views expressed by the visitors of the exhibition. Timetable of the project / calendar of Events: 10 months Role / tasks of the partner organization in the project: Good host for creators and crew, promotion of the project and exhibition, organization of gala evening aboard the ship, signing the collaboration agreement. Profile of the partners/ type of organization: Municipalities and public authorities, NGO on the banks of Danube. Hîrșova, a 7000-year-old town on the banks of the Danube, known in the Roman era as Carsium, has an approximate population of 10.000 inhabitants and important natural resources: clay, very good for building materials, limestone, historical monuments that can be a solid foundation for cultural tourism and upstream thermal sulphurous waters, excellent for rheumatic diseases. In Hîrșova also, is one of the leading steel wires and ropes plants in Europe. Town Hall of Hîrșova City has a structure with 10 departments served by 109 employees of which 69 are public servants. The Local Council of Hîrșova City, which approves the Mayor's proposals through decisions, has 17 local councilors from different political parties.
